Delicious, refreshing and perfectly tarte dessert for summer!
This Recipe is so yummy, it will taste like your grandmother's dessert. The Key Lime Pie, was entered and won 1st prize in a bake-off.
Grandma's Key Lime Pie
Ingredients
1 sleeve of graham crackers, crushed
3 Tbsp sugar
5 Tbsp melted butter
19 oz sweetened condensed milk
4 egg yolks
1/s cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1 Tbsp lime zest, grated
Directions:
Preheat oven 400*
In a small bowl mix the first three ingredients (crushed graham cracker, sugar & melted butter.) Press the crumbs mixture into a 9-inch pie dish. Bake the pie shell in the oven for 5 minutes, until lightly brown. Set aside to cool.
Beat the egg yolks with a wire whisk and a bowl and blend in the condensed milk.
Add the lime zest mixing well.
Pour into the pie shell & bake in the oven for 20 minutes ( until the center has set.), and chill.
Once chilled, garnish with 3 thin lime twists & whole strawberry sliced to the top. Fan out the strawberry and place lime twists.
